St. Columba’s School is located in Kilmacolm, a leafy commuter village situated between Greenock and Paisley. It is a popular residential area offering a welcome change from the bustle of town life.
Though considered a rural location the village is a short drive from Glasgow, Paisley and Glasgow International Airport.
The School buildings and sports facilities are located within a quarter of a mile radius of each other.
Our pupils come from the immediate vicinity of Kilmacolm and surrounding villages, however the catchment are has a radius of over 30km covering Inverclyde, Renfrewshire, Ayrshire and parts of Argyll.
Transportation is arranged for pupils travelling to the School from a wide area.

Travel Directions
From the M8 motorway westbound, leave the M8 at junction 28A (signposted Irvine A737), then merge onto the A737. Continue along the A737 and take the second exit signposted Johnstone, Bridge of Weir. At the top of slip-road turn right at the traffic lights and proceed onto Barrochan Road, B789. At the Deafhillock roundabout take the first exit onto the A761 signposted Bridge of Weir.
Continue on the A761 passing through Brookfield then Bridge of Weir and Kilmacolm is three miles further on. You will see Knapps Loch on your right as you approach Kilmacolm.
Just after the 30mph speed limit sign the road becomes red tarmac - turn left onto Gryffe Road. As the road forks into a “Y” you will see St. Columba’s all-weather playing fields behind a large beech hedge on your left hand side. Then...
- to proceed to the Senior School
as you pass the playing fields on Gryffe Road take the right fork onto Duchal Road. The Senior School is the large red sandstone building 600yards up on your left.
- to proceed to the Junior School
as you pass the playing fields on Gryffe Road, keep to the left and proceed along to the end of Gryffe Road. At the “T” junction, turn left into Lochwinnoch Road. You will pass a police station on your left – take the third road on your right after the police station into Knockbuckle Road. Continue down Knockbuckle Road until you come to Birkmyre Park on your left and St. Columba’s Junior School is on your right. Please enter the School via the main reception area.
