St Columba's Through to Next Round of Young Chef Competition
Following her success at School level, we are delighted to announce that Jazz Cato (SI) has won the district final of the Rotary Club Young Chef competition. As the youngest competitor of the eleven taking part Jazz has secured a remarkable achievement.
The competition aims to encourage young people to develop cookery skills, consider healthy eating options, as well as prove their ability to cope in a demanding situation. The young chefs had to prepare a three course meal for two people costing no more than £14. They were judged not only on the taste of their dishes, but on the range of skills used, their use of time and the presentation of their table.
Jazz will now compete in the 'Scottish and North of England' Regional Final, which is scheduled for 13 March 2010. We wish her the very best of luck!
