£8500 and still counting...
Pupils and staff took part in a sponsored walk along the cycle track as part of Health & Wellbeing Week. The walk was to raise money for the Beatson Oncology Unit in support of our Senior Janitor, Mr George Walton, who is currently undergoing treatment there. Mr Walton, who has worked at St Columba's for more than 20 years, asked us to support the unit as he is so appreciative of all the care and assistance they are currently giving him.
The rain held off for the afternoon and we are delighted to have recieved £8,500 in sponsorship money so far. Thank you to everyone who supported this very worthy cause. Pupils presented Mr Walton with two cheques - one for the Friends of the Beatson and one for the Beatson Oncology Unit.
