Inverclyde Music Festival
The Inverclyde Music festival runs for two weeks during late January. It is held in Greenock Town Hall and included in the festival are the following areas:
Musical entries including vocal and instrumental
Speech and Scottish Country Dancing classes
Choirs and action song classes
Piping classes are held in the nearby Wellpark Mid Kirk
The Festival is hugely popular with St Columba’s. In most years we usually have entries exceeding one hundred and all children benefit greatly from the experience.

PIPE BAND
The Pipe Band plays a huge role within St. Columba’s School and is led by the world-class Pipe Major Gordon Walker. The band performs at many school functions and is in great demand to play at corporate, charity, sports and Scottish events. Over the last few years they have travelled to America and Italy and have performed for the Princess Royal, the Duchess of Cornwall and various celebrities. The Pipe Band recently played to delighted spectators on a chilly December afternoon and raised £200 for Ardgowan Hospice.
Pipe Major Gordon Walker and Isla StClair have just produced Highland Laddie, a 55min CD and 75min DVD of music and features. If you would like to purchase a copy please email Gordon.
