Transport

School Coaches

Transport is provided to and from School on the following routes:

Transport - routes

Dunoon - McInroys Point - Cardwell Bay - Kilmacolm*

PaisleyBrookfield - Bridge of Weir - Kilmacolm *

Houston - Kilmacolm

Beith - Kilmacolm

Largs – Skelmorlie - Wemyss Bay – Inverkip - Kilmacolm *

Where transport is organised by the School*, companies are required to provide disclosure information about their drivers.  Senior pupils are appointed as bus prefects, whose job it is to supervise pupil conduct and safety on coaches.

If you have any concerns or comments about the School coaches, please contact Mr McLaughlin at Senior School or Mr McKay, Junior School, who will take up the matter with the company concerned.  The School asks that parents do not discuss concerns directly with coach drivers.

Cycles

Cycles must be left properly secured under the walkway of the Cargill Centre and should have clear identification marks on them.  Pupils must wear safety helmets as they cycle to School.

Pupil Drivers

Any pupil wishing to drive his/her car to School must have a parking permit and a copy of the school parking code which must have been read.

Cars or motor cycles brought to school must be parked in Glebe Road or the Village Car Park.  Pupils should check their insurance cover before bringing a car to school - some insurance companies do not cover "students" for journeys to and from their place of education.   Cars or motorcyles may not be used for social outings at any time during the school day, either individually or with other sixth formers.

Pupils who fail to observe these rules will find their privileges withdrawn.

All pupils who intend to give lifts to any other pupils at anytime during the school day must ensure the School has prior written consent from the each pupil’s parents. Copies of the appropriate permission slip are available from Mrs Motherwell, the Rector’s PA.
