After passing her grade 8 Musical Theatre exam with distinction last year, Rowan MacKillop (SVI) decided to sit her London College of Music Diploma in Music Theatre Performance. Recommended for first year university music students and older, she was unsure how successful her exam would be, and was delighted to receive the news that she had achieved her diploma with marks of 90/100.

For the exam Rowan had to perform four musical theatre songs varying in genre, style and time period alongside four accompanying monologues from their corresponding shows, as well as sight singing and an interview about the history of musical theatre and her performance from the day. Rowan said, “It was a really enjoyable experience, despite the hard work required, and I hope this has given me even more preparation for the future, when I hope to study Musical Theatre at drama school.”
