Hockey Success at District Level

West Wins Boys U16s Inter-district Hockey Plate
Congratulations to Niall T (SIII) and Finlay H (SIV) who were selected to play for the West District squad in the 2016 Boys U16s Inter-district competition at the Glasgow National Hockey Centre at the end of September.
Team West won their first game of the tournament against their toughest rival 'East District'. The West boys secured a 4-1 victory over East and went on to win all their remaining games throughout the competition with convincing scores. Their triumph over East and an impressive goal lead from throughout the tournament secured Team West as the winners.
Niall and Finlay have since been selected to play for Scotland U16s Development team.
St Columba’s Making an Impact at South West District
On 1st and 2nd October the following St Columba’s pupils represented South West District at hockey:
U16: Holly P (SV), Olivia S, Sarah W, Kim C (SIV), Jessie C, Holly H, Lucy B (SIII), Connie R, Neave H (SII)
U18: Imogen D, Eilidh F, Maryka C (SVI), Kathryn M, Amy C, Anna H, Anna C (SV)
This is a huge number of team members to come from one school and we are delighted that the U16 girls came fourth and the U18 girls were second in their respective tournaments.
