On 22nd October the Renfrewshire heats for Scottish Schools’ Swimming 2016 took place at the On-X, Linwood. Several school pupils had qualifying times to represent the school at this event - Stella Mc (J6), Emilia R (Trans), Ben S (SI), Ashleigh B (SI), Lewis H (SIII) and Calvin W (SIV). In an exciting afternoon of racing all the pupils swam well and obtained PB times. Hopefully some will have qualified for the finals next year.

Also during August the West District Swimming Short Course Sprint & Relay Championship took place at Tollcross International Swimming Centre. Several school pupils had qualifying times to represent their clubs at this event - Ben S (SI), Ashleigh B (SI), Calum F (SII), Jack P (SII) and Calvin W (SIV) representing Inverclyde Amateur Swimming Club and Lewis H (SIII) representing REN 96. All pupils swam very well obtaining PB times and Lewis reached the final in his back stroke event. Ben was part of the 4x50 freestyle relay team from Inverclyde Amateur Swimming Club who won the gold medal after an exciting swim.
