Due to poor weather conditions the traditional Port Glasgow Remembrance Day Parade had to be cancelled and the service moved indoors to the Town Hall. Despite the high winds and driving rain, a scaled down St Columba's Pipe Band of twenty musicians led a march of representatives of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders the short distance from the Town Hall to the Cenotaph for a wreath-laying ceremony.

Beyond this, two of our senior pipers, Pipe Sergeant Lewis MacRobert and Pipe Major Keir Brown (SVI), fulfilled duties requested by the Inverclyde Branch of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders by playing solo pipes at two commemorative services that same morning – one at the Argylls’ Memorial in the grounds of Finlaystone; the other at the Cairn Memorial in Woodhall Community Park, Port Glasgow.
