Mental Health Awareness Presentation
Thursday 14th September, 18.30-19.45, Junior School Hall

St Columba's is hosting a presentation for parents on the subject of adolescent mental health. This event is also open to the wider community.

We are extremely privileged to be joined for the day by Dick Moore; a well-known campaigner for mental health awareness and education. Formerly an English teacher, rugby coach and headmaster for over 20 years, the suicide of his 21 year old son led Dick to focus his career on raising awareness of adolescent mental wellbeing. His TEDx talk “Dancing or Drowning in the Rain” has over 17,000 views on You Tube and since 2012 he has visited a vast number of schools and other organisations throughout the country, as well as appearing on national TV and radio.

On Thursday 14th September Dick will speak to all Senior School year groups and staff from both the Junior and Senior Schools. We sincerely hope that as many parents as possible will come along to his evening presentation at 18.30 in the Junior School hall. All members of the school community are welcome to attend and to bring along any members of the wider community who may wish to learn more about this topic.

If you would like to find out more about Dick please see his website: www.dickmoore.org where you will find links to his TEDx talk and recent Radio 4 broadcast.

In order to help us plan the evening please email secretary@st-columbas.org to let us know that you will be attending.
