After the enormous success of last year's Former Pupils’ Fixtures - when we were blessed with a dry, sunny day - we are very much looking forward to this session's event which is due to take place this Saturday - 24th March.
It is an occasion to which we would like to invite all members of the School community, not least because this time round we will be playing host to a distinguished guest from the world of sport.
Scotland rugby player, Finn Russell, man of the match in February's Calcutta Cup, will be joining us for the morning, and taking the opportunity to participate in some coaching sessions with younger pupils, as well as presenting prizes and trophies during the Reception in the Junior School Hall at the end of the games.

In the lead up to this weekend, we are also running a charity ‘Spot the Ball’ competition, the winner of which will be presented with a signed rugby ball by Finn Russell on Saturday. This competition, organised by Vanilla Square, is in support of Beatson Cancer Charity, Children’s Hospice Association Scotland, Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity and Doddie Weir’s MND.
‘Spot the Ball’ cards – with a photo of the Scotland fly-half in the act of kicking – will be available for pick-up at Junior School Reception and Senior School Reception from today for a minimum donation of £1. Completed cards should then be returned to either Reception by the end of the school day on Wednesday.
We do hope as many of you as possible can join us for some, if not all, of next Saturday morning’s event. With the presence of the current ‘face’ of Scottish rugby, the rousing support of the School’s Pipe Band, not to mention some highly-contested sporting fixtures, it promises to be a very special occasion.
