The Durham Union Society  Debating Tournament took place last weekend, involving 124 teams from both state and independent schools, as well as Debatemate teams.

Freddie Gilmour, SV, did extremely well and made it to quarter finals. Rachael Curry and Jamie Beverstock, SVI, beat Westminster School in an excellent semi-final debate and then in the final they narrowly lost out to Eton College.

A superb effort from Freddie, Jamie and Rachael, well done!
