21st May 2018

As part of the busy programme of School events which is organised in the lead up to the summer holiday, the School Pipe Band will again perform its Beating the Retreat in the final week of term. As was the case last year, this event will be hosted in front of the Shalott building at the Junior School (with contingency arrangements to relocate inside should the need arise) on Monday 25th June. Gates will open at 6.45pm, with the ‘march-on’ taking place at 7.00pm and refreshments to follow in the Main Hall at approximately 8.00pm.

The event will be free but ticketed. A charity collection will take place during the evening, the proceeds of which will be shared between the School’s chosen charity for this session and Pipe Band fundraising.

Not only will the evening’s programme allow members of the Development Band and the Senior Band to demonstrate their well-honed skills, but the occasion will also provide an opportunity for the School to formally welcome new members to the Pipe Band through the presentation of cap badges and also bid farewell to those musicians who will be leaving at the end of the session.

If you and any other family members would like to join us for the evening and receive tickets, please complete the pro-forma (sent out via ParentMail) indicating numbers and return it to Reception at either the Junior School or the Senior School by Monday 4th  June. As there are only a limited number of spaces available, tickets will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

We hope you can join us.
