Members of the School’s U15 rugby team combined over the weekend to secure an outstanding double. First the boys completed a clean sweep in the Schools' Barbarian Conference U15 and then repeated the feat for their local club, Birkmyre, the next day.

Both leagues are played from the end of August until the end of November. The boys won all 9 matches in their Schools’ U15 conference and all 7 of their matches in the West T4 U15 conference. Between the two leagues, they scored over a hundred tries and conceded only 11.

In the New Year the boys will be playing friendly fixtures for the School and are hoping to enter a Regional Cup competition for Birkmyre. The St Columba’s boys make up around 85% of the Birkmyre U15 squad, along with club mates from Gryffe High School, Port Glasgow High School and Glasgow Academy.

The boys who represented both the School team and the Birkmyre team were:

Magnus M, Ben S, Adam H, David C, Archie K, Ciaran P, Ryan R, Ali D, Finlay D,  Nicholas P, Benji V, Sam C, David S, Finlay McL, Matthew T, Finlay G (all SIII) & Zander D and Jamie H (SIV). A number of other boys, including Matt M, Gregor R, Alistair P, Jake C (SIII) & Archie S and Hector W (SIV), also played for the School U15 team.
