Six of our pupils participated in the National Piping Centre’s Junior Solo Competition in Glasgow on Saturday 16th February. This is one of the main solo events for junior pipers and chanter players, with competitors travelling to the event from across Scotland.

The successes included:

Special mention should also be made to Angus Scott (SII) taking part in his first national solo event on the pipes and performing very well. Archie Sandground (SIV) was competing in the under 18 categories for the first time. Mr Bruce reports that he put on his best performance yet and received excellent feedback from the adjudicators. The standard in this age group is extremely high.

Euan Lindsay followed up his success in Glasgow the following week taking 4th place at the Shotts and Dykehead Junior Solos.

Well done to all!
