We are delighted to be able to announce that the Scottish Schools’ Pipe Band Championships which took place yesterday in Inveralmond Community High School in Livingston represented a day of significant success for the fifty-five musicians involved from St Columba's - many of whom were making their debuts in competitive piping and drumming.

Firstly, Band II competed in the Junior B category in a contest which involved 15 other bands from across the country and were declared third place winners at the end of the day and received a shield and a cheque for £200. Then, following their first-placed success in the Junior B category last session, our Band I entered the more challenging Novice Juvenile category this year and beat 18 other schools at this level to receive first prize having been awarded the top position by three out of the four judges and second place by the fourth judge. Band I also received a shield plus a cheque for £500.
