St Columba's has been at the heart of the community for over 100 years. Our pupils, particularly those associated with the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, work with a wide range of local organisations, including Countryview, Marcus Humphrey and Campbell Snowdon at Quarriers, Kilmacolm Day Care Centre, Ardgowan Hospice, Finlaystone Estate and Muirshiel Park. Senior VI pupils volunteer on a weekly basis at Kilmacolm Primary School. Our School Pipe Band leads the Remembrance Day Parade held at the cenotaph in Port Glasgow and our choirs perform each year at the Accord Hospice Carol Service at Paisley Abbey.

We continue to support wider access to the School through means-tested bursaries.  Our annual bursary fund of over £400,000 assists pupils who, without such help, could not benefit from a St Columba's education. The fund also supports current parents who find themselves in difficult financial circumstances.
