Personal and Social Education is designed to foster the physical, mental, emotional and social wellbeing of our pupils and to prepare them to face the challenges ahead. Pupils are taught in House groups by the Heads of House who really get to know their pupils and can be flexible in their approach, dealing with current issues, local circumstances and changing needs.

Through our extensive syllabus we seek to guide pupils to become confident, responsible and resilient young adults who demonstrate respect for their fellow citizens and can make a positive contribution to their communities and the wider world.

Throughout their time at St Columba’s, a wide variety of topics is covered to include all aspects of good health, the changing nature of relationships, challenging prejudice and discrimination in our daily lives, strategies to keep safe in a range of risky situations and a comprehensive career programme.
