St Columba’s Admission Procedure
The main points of entry to the School are Junior 1 and Transitus (Junior 7). However, arrangements can be made for a pupil to enter the School at other stages if places become available. Entry is by a combination of entrance test, interview and a report from the applicant’s previous school. Entrance to Nursery, Preparatory and Junior 1 is by informal assessment with children being invited to visit the School in small groups during January and April. Pupils accepted into Prep do not automatically move in to Junior 1 but are assessed in the same manner as all other Junior 1 applicants. However, when a pupil is accepted into Junior 1, or subsequent years, he will generally be eligible to move into the Senior School without further assessment. Admissions Policy
The first step in the process is to complete and return the application form with an entrance fee of £20. Pupils are then added to the application list and parents will be notified of assessment dates when entrance examinations and interviews are conducted. Places offered are in order of academic merit. At any time parents can request an appointment to visit the School during session.
