Junior 1 – Junior 3
We aim to ensure that the children have an excellent start to their more formal education. We endorse the importance of active involvement in a child’s own learning. The children are encouraged to be motivated and take responsibility for their own actions. Personal and Social Development is an intrinsic part of all lessons.
We provide a well balanced and stimulating curriculum with an emphasis on each child reaching their potential. A thorough grounding in literacy and numeracy is provided, in addition to Social Studies, Expressive Arts, Health and Welll-being and Religious and Moral Education. Specialist teachers provide French, Music and PE.
Junior 1 and 2 have dedicated Teaching Assistants who provide support within the classroom and activity sessions.
Children are provided with opportunities to explore all subjects through active involvement and this will also include class visits on many occasions to such places as Scotland Street School, Hunterian Museum, Science Centre and Pollok House.
