Science Building Opening
Fifty years after its original opening we celebrated the completion of the modernisation of our Science building. In the afternoon, Guest of Honour Professor Sir Jim McDonald addressed guests, pupils and staff, praising the excellent facilities and the School’s commitment, especially in view of the importance of STEM careers in the future.

We were delighted that Sir Eric Yarrow, who originally opened the building in 1965, was able to attend the event and view the new facilities. The official ribbon cutting ceremony was followed by a tour of the building.
At the Open Evening, families and friends of St Columba’s were entertained by pupils and staff who demonstrated a number of interactive experiments in the Chemistry, Physics and Biology laboratories. We would like to extend our thanks and appreciation to everyone who supported this wonderful project.
