Will Joins NYOS

Will Fleming (SI), who plays French Horn, will once again be joining the Junior the National Youth Orchestra of Scotland.  In March he will attend a preparatory weekend at the High School of Glasgow, followed by a four-day residential course at Merchiston Castle School (Edinburgh), culminating in a concert at the RICS on 19th April. There is also a summer residential course hosted by Strathallan School with a final concert at Greyfriar’s Kirk in Edinburgh on 11th July.

This year NYOS are running a ‘Scottish Connections’ theme and will again be playing Malcolm Arnold’s Four Scottish Dances. Other repertoire will include Debussy’s March Ecossaise and Verdi’s Macbeth Ballet Suite No. 2. Director of Music, Ms Yvonne Carey, said, “This is a fantastic opportunity for Will to develop his playing further and to perform very challenging repertoire. I am delighted that he has successfully re-auditioned for Junior NYOS this year.”
