Once a Columban, always a Columban

We are delighted that so many of you play an active role in our community and we enjoy helping our alumni keep in touch with one another and the school.  Every year, we aim to build on our offering so that we can support pupils about to embark on life after school as well as those of you who have already left.

We run a successful mentorship programme for Senior V and Senior VI in which we connect current pupils (who are turning their attention to UCAS applications) with former pupils who have gone on to study and work in the area that the current pupil wishes to pursue.

Events are also an important aspect of the DMA (Development, Marketing & Admissions Department) and we are here to help you connect with other former pupils, support you in your chosen careers and celebrate your achievements. We also provide assistance in arranging reunions or tracing contemporaries (subject to GDPR guidelines).

Reunions

We host reunions throughout the year.  We can host one year group at a time, but sometimes we host multiple reunions on the same day. They are always lots of fun, and give you an opportunity to connect with former classmates and current/former members of staff too.  Reunions at St Columba’s generally follow one of two formats:

  1. Welcome drinks, tour of school and lunch
  2. Welcome drinks and tour of school
  • 11:30 Meet at Senior School for drinks (bucks fizz/tea/coffee). Photos and magazines will be on display and you are welcome to bring your own memorabilia for display on the day. We invite current/former members of staff to attend this part of your reunion.
  • 12:00 Tour of school
  • 13:00 Two-course lunch with wine
  • 15:00 Close (and continue the event in someone’s house or another venue)

We can help with generating the invite and can promote your reunion. If you would like help to arrange your reunion, please get in touch.

Other Events

The Association would love to hear about any other events you would like to have, either held at the school or in any other part of the country. Members are geographically spread far and wide, but this should not restrict anyone from holding a local event or reunion. Assistance can be given with arranging reunions or tracing former pupils and visits to school are always welcomed.
