Transitus
With a quarter of the time spent on the Senior School campus, Transitus provides a focused preparation for the experience of Senior School. Pupils follow a broad curriculum of thirteen subjects with a timetable which sees them move between a base teacher – responsible for the teaching of English and Arithmetic as well as offering pastoral care – and lessons taught by a range of Senior School subject specialists. As part of Social Education, Transitus pupils enjoy a team-building day at Castle Semple in Lochwinnoch at the start of the new session. With Transitus being one of the main intake years, the day allows pupils to make new friends, meet new people, try new skills and obviously learn to work together as a team. They also attend ‘Safe Kids’ at Finlaystone and ‘Choices for Life’, which is about making sensible choices regarding peer pressure and the benefits of choosing a healthy lifestyle. Other year-group trips are subject related.
