We are delighted to congratulate St Columba’s pupils on another outstanding set of results in the SQA examinations with pass rates of 96.3% at National 5 level, 95.4% at Higher level and 87.3% for Advanced Higher.
In Senior IV, at National 5 level, 43% of candidates achieved seven or more As, whilst at Higher an incredible 43% of our Senior V cohort achieved 5 As. At Advanced Higher, three quarters of results were at A or B with one third of pupils achieving three or more A passes.
For many of the Class of 2024, today also brought to an end the tension of waiting to find out if they had achieved the conditions for their university offers. Following the publication of the A Level results, 98% of applicants have now been accepted to their first choice of university which include prestigious universities, such as Cambridge, Durham, St Andrews, Edinburgh and Glasgow.*
These excellent results reflect the hard work, commitment and resilience of our pupils and their teachers but they are just one part of the rounded education that we aim to deliver at St Columba’s. As well as achieving outstanding academic success, amongst these pupils there are world class musicians, debaters and athletes as well as compassionate and aspirational individuals. Our warmest congratulations go to everyone receiving results today, whatever their success has been, and especially to the Class of 2024 as they embark on new adventures.
