One of most significant land sales in Kilmacolm
This week, we are one small step closer to making our ambitious redevelopment plans a reality with the high-profile announcement that our Junior School site is now on the market.
The news was publicised in The Herald as “one of most significant land sales within the Kilmacolm area” which comes as a result of Shepherd Chartered Surveyors issuing a statement saying that they would be marketing the site as a unique development opportunity.
While this week’s announcement is a bittersweet one for our community, we are thrilled by the prospect of a sale which will allow us to offer to pupils a modern and bright Junior School. While a brand-new facility, the relocated Junior School will continue to be built on those qualities which make St Columba’s School so successful: a strong sense of community, academic excellence, opportunities for all, a focus on the individual and outstanding pastoral care.
We are hopeful that the beautiful site, featuring the stunning Shalott, a home for boarders for many years and a place of learning more recently, will attract a sensitive buyer.
