The Gryffe Valley Book Festival brings together authors, readers, and book lovers with a dynamic programme of events across Bridge of Weir, Houston and Kilmacolm. St Columba’s School is proud to be sponsoring and hosting an evening with author Jess Mills, and Kaye Adams, Scottish television presenter and journalist.
Jess Mills is an author, campaigner and the daughter of Dame Tessa Jowell MP, who sadly passed away in 2018 following a brain tumour diagnosis. Jess’s debut memoir ‘We Are Each Other’ is an incredibly moving account of becoming a mother while facing the loss of her own to a sudden terminal illness.
Though Tessa Jowell lived a life of public service, this is not the story of a public person. ‘We Are Each Other’ tells, with a powerful lyricism and raw intensity, of a mother and a daughter walking both sides of life and death together, documenting the extraordinary human ability to love, grieve and renew, alongside the changing seasons of the natural world.
Join Jess as she discusses her memoir with Kaye Adams on 15th September. ‘We Are Each Other’ will be available from The Ginger Cat Bookshop prior to and following the event.
