The Former Pupils' Hockey and Rugby Weekend has long been a favourite fixture in the St Columba's sporting calendar, and this year we were delighted to welcome former pupils from as far back as 2015 to join in with festivities.
Hockey - Friday 24th March @The Astro
The weekend kicked off on Friday evening with the 1st XI taking on a formidable FP XI in the pouring rain at the Astro. The poor conditions didn't put the teams off - or the spectators, who were treated to a thrilling match. In the end, it was the 1st XI who emerged triumphant.
1st XI v. FP XI: 3-1

Rugby - Saturday 25th March @Birkmyre Park
The next morning, it was the turn of the rugby boys to take to the pitch and, while the rain stayed away during play, it was a very muddy affair. First up was the Captain's XV against the Vice Captain's XV, led by Angus R and Mark H respectively. After a close run match, it was the Captain's XV who claimed victory.
The final match was a showdown between the Old Boys (leavers from 2021/22) and the Old Old Boys (leavers from 2019/20). The Old Boys team was also bolstered by some Old Old Old Boys, who helped them take the win.

Second year running
Many thanks to Mr Reid and the P.E. department for organising the matches and to Mr Bruce and the Pipe Band for piping all the teams onto the pitch. Our thanks also go to Alumni Relations Office, Mrs Davidson, for organising the hospitality for this wonderful celebration of community and sport.
