Clarinettist Emily B (SV) was crowned Scottish Young Musicians Solo Performer of the Year 2023 for her performance of Solo de Concours by André Messager at the national final at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland on Sunday 21st May.
Emily was awarded the beautiful Maid of Morven trophy designed and donated by Alexander Stoddart, the Queen’s Sculptor in Ordinary in Scotland. She has also won amazing career-changing prizes including cash to spend on developing music skills, masterclasses, coaching, recording sessions, festival performances, meet-and-greets with Scotland’s top music institutions.
This is an incredible achievement for Emily and the result of years of hard work and dedication.
