Congratulations to Freya J (SI) who has received a certificate and a £20 token for her entry into the Gryffe Valley Rotary Club's Young Photographer of the Year competition.

The theme for this year's competition was "Rebuilding", and Freya captured the essence of it like a true artist with her photograph below.

Picture this: a snapshot that speaks volumes. On one side, we have Dargavel Village, standing tall and proud, while on the other side, the remains of the Royal Ordnance Factory (ROF) site tell a story of the past. But what's caught in the middle? It's the spirit of progress, the determination to rebuild and reshape the future. Freya's photograph captures the breathtaking transformation as new buildings rise from the ashes, symbolising hope, resilience, and the unstoppable force of growth.

We wish Freya and her beautiful photograph the very best of luck in the next leg of the competition, which is at district level.
