4th November 2016

On Wednesday 5th October Ken Macintosh, Presiding Officer of the Scottish Parliament, hosted a celebration of the 60th anniversary of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.

Kharis Cunningham, Iona Grant and Owen Bannatyne, all school leavers from the Class of 2016, joined many supporters and leaders of DofE in Scotland and were presented with their SCQF Level 5 certificates in Leadership. They spent a year completing the course which involved mentoring Senior III participants working towards their Bronze award.

Seven of the twelve recipients had been guided through their Leadership award by Carole Marr, St Columba's School's Head of Outdoor Education – 3 pupils from St Columba’s and 4 from the Inverclyde group.  A fantastic achievement for our former pupils and, of course, Carole.
