We were delighted to get the news that Junior School have achieved Reading Schools: Silver accreditation.

Reading plays a vital role in the life of the Junior School, with pupils encouraged to engage in personal reading and make use of the library facilities throughout the school week. According to the Scottish Book Trust, who run the Reading Schools initiative: "Research proves that reading for pleasure supports equity and wellbeing, impacts learners' attainment, and encourages critical thinking, creativity, empathy and resilience."

In order to gain the Silver accreditation, Miss Kelly and the Library Committee had to produce evidence that the School is providing additional opportunities to broaden their learners’ experiences, such as engaging with authors, visiting libraries, and bringing in other outside expertise.

Well done to everyone in Junior School for this amazing achievement.
