Congratulations to the three pupils who participated in last Thursday’s local heat of Gryffe Valley’s Rotary Club’s Young Chef Competition hosted at Gryffe High School: Christopher Howe and Scott Downie in Transitus and Charlotte Westwood in Senior II.
At the end of the evening Charlotte Westwood was announced the winner. Cool under pressure and neat and efficient at her work station, she produced two outstanding dishes which impressed greatly the panel of three judges.
She now progresses through to the district final which will take place in South Lanarkshire College on 1st February when she will have to prepare a three-course meal for two people.
