After many weeks of learning some tricky lyrics and complex musical arrangements in their lessons with Mrs Fleming, the children of Junior 5 and 6 spent a very enjoyable day working with Scottish Opera professionals to produce a fantastic performance of ‘The Tale of Tam’.
Based on the famous story of Tam O’ Shanter by Robert Burns, the children started the day knowing just the lyrics and music. After a couple of hours with the Scottish Opera team, they had added choreography and costumes to create an animated and exciting performance.
A dress rehearsal to the younger pupils was the perfect warm-up to the main event and many thanks go to all of the parents, family and friends who came along to see the final performance. The children had a fabulous day working with Scottish Opera, learning more about music and theatre and having a great time in the process.
