In February Fintan Rooney (J5) attended a Glasgow Feis. This is a competition for ceilidh bands, held at Woodfarm High School in Glasgow. Fintan's U12 band, St James the Great, came 3rd out of eight bands in the category.

St James the Great band has nine members and talented Fintan is the only drummer. He started playing in September and ceilidh music is a passion as he also plays the fiddle. Fintan lists his mum and aunt as his inspiration as they are both keen ceilidh musicians.

Next for Fintan is a 'Fla' competition. This will take place at the end of April and he hopes to be placed 1st or 2nd as he will then get into the 'All Ireland' competition and compete against the rest of the world - good luck, Fintan!
