This week we welcomed pupils back to school.

We are so pleased to be welcoming pupils back into school this week. After a long break from teaching in school, staff and teachers were delighted by the sound of pupils in corridors and seeing our classrooms full once again. On Wednesday morning we welcomed our new Transitus pupils, and they spent the day settling in to their new home at Senior School.

Many of our pupils have adapted quickly to our ‘New Normal’. Dutifully following the one way system in place at senior school, and using the hand sanitisation units located across the school.

On Thursday morning we were joined by Junior 1 pupils as they began their Columban adventure. We are delighted to welcome so many new pupils to J1 this year alongside some familiar faces from Early Years. There were plenty of smiles to be seen at Junior school as J1 started their first day. The morning was spent with Mrs Maxwell settling in to their new classroom, with smiles continuing throughout the day as the children got to know one another during an outdoor break!

At the end of our first week back we welcomed many bright new faces, as we were joined by our new Early Years children. At St Columba’s Early Years is the collective name for Prep and Nursery, the children build lasting bonds with each other as they share a learning environment. Their morning was spent becoming acquainted with their new classroom, exploring all the new and exciting educational toys and games. Early Years then went on to spend the afternoon making the most of our Wild Woods and utilising their waterproof all-in-one suits.

Welcome to all our pupils at St Columba’s! We wish everyone the best of luck for rest of the year ahead!
