Last week saw people across the country come together for the second National Intergenerational week. The theme of this year has been to celebrate moments, ideas and opportunities that bring generations together in their local communities.

At St Columba’s pupils are encouraged to help tackle social isolation and build friendships across generations. Working closely with Campbell Snowdon, residents and pupils often participate in fun activities together, such as activie bodies sessions. To protect our friends at Campbell Snowdon and to adhere to the current restrictions, pupils have been unable to make in-person visits.

However, Junior 6 have not let the pandemic stop them, making sure they keep in contact with residents at both Campbell Snowdon and Elphinstone Sheltered Housing. Using their brilliant writing skills, J6 each wrote letters to the residents. Pupils shared updates on their 'new normal', wishes for the future and kind words of encouragement.

Well done Junior 6! We are so proud to witness your kindness, consideration and care for your local community.
