Ben V (SV) and Lucy M (SIII) both gain places at 'space school' and the 'engineering the future for girls' programme.

Congratulations to SV physicist Ben V for being selected to attend Strathclyde University's Space School programme and to Lucy M in SIII for being awarded a place on their ‘Engineering the Future for Girls’ programme.

Both programmes will be hosted virtually for 2021 and provide opportunities for Ben and Lucy to learn from some of the world’s leading figures in physics and engineering. This year Strathclyde space school is sponsored by Wood plc, a multinational engineering and consulting business. Ben will be able to gain insight into the field of space travel alongside hearing from colleagues from NASA.

Strathclyde’s ‘Engineering the future for Girls’ programme is designed to inspire young female students to discover career opportunities in engineering. Lucy will get to take part in a group project throughout the week and also hear from a range of staff, students at the university, as well as colleagues of BP and BAM.

We hope that both our physicists have an out-of-this-world experience and will report back to ground control to tell us all about their exciting experience!
