Last session, Emma Weir (then in SI) took part in the Gilbert Murray Classics essay competition, run by Glasgow University. This is a national competition with three age categories: SI/SII, SIII/SIV and SV/SVI. Emma's submission was a piece of creative writing about the lead-up to the eruption of Mount Vesuvius and its effects on the town of Pompeii. The panel of judges was very impressed with her work and awarded it a certificate – well done, Emma!
