27th November 2018

Well done to Jessica Smith, Emma Ventham and Alex Glass (Transitus) who all worked very hard at the Young Chef competition on 22nd November at Gryffe High School. The pupils had to prepare, cook and serve a two-course healthy meal (main course and dessert) suitable for two people, as economically as possible, up to £15. Each having 30 minutes preparation time and one and a half hours cooking time.

They were the youngest competitors involved, being only eleven years old. Though not the winner, Emma Ventham was awarded a highly commended prize by the judges. All pupils involved received certificates for participation, a copy of the book Hairy Bikers’ British Classics Recipes and a goodie bag provided by the event sponsor, Gibb Stuart Home Hardware.
