18th December 2018

One of our Junior 5 boys, Isaac Roebuck, has been so inspired by the work Junior School has been carrying out for Social Bite and all that he has learned about homelessness that he planned his own charitable initiative. Isaac put a slight twist on the idea of a ‘Christmas’ stocking and filled socks with some essential items (with the other sock being included too) and then tying them up with a red ribbon. He also put a little message in each sock which he hopes will brighten up someone's day.

Isaac would like to thank all of the children and parents that helped collect his list of items for his Social Bite ‘Wee Sleep Out’ inspired initiative to help the homeless.

After a few weeks Isaac received enough donations to fill 20 socks with items like ponchos, hats, toiletries and chocolate bars and on Thursday 13th December Isaac delivered them to the Hub at Simon Community Scotland based at London Road in Glasgow.

Isaac met with the team leader, Elaine, and her Street Team who assist homeless people in Glasgow on a nightly basis.

By the time you read this all of the generous donations will have found their way to the people who need them. Very well done, Isaac!
