International Year of Light

To celebrate the International Year of Light, The Institute of Physics invited pupils from across Scotland to research light and its applications and to then produce a poster summarising their findings. The judges were very impressed with the creativity of Erin Ramsay, Eilidh Paterson and Poppy Pitts (Transitus), who were awarded the best overall poster prize across all age groups.
Anne George and Eve Blincow also won the prize for the primary category. They were invited to attend an event held at the Royal Society of Edinburgh, where they received their prizes from Professor Martin Hendry, Professor of Gravitational Astrophysics and Cosmology at the University of Glasgow.
