14th March 2019

On Wednesday 13th March, Mila Lassman (J6) and Emma Crouch (J5), along with Mrs Smillie, had the pleasure of attending Social Bite's Thank You Gala Dinner having been chosen to represent the School. This amazing event was held in Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC) and was attended by all major fundraisers and supporters of the charity. As one of the top 11 fundraising schools for our 'Wee Sleep Out' in November, the girls were treated like VIPs and even got a chance to walk the red carpet! We were also awarded a special certificate to thank the School for our whopping £2,657.27 total.

During the event, there were many reminders of why it is important to stand up to homelessness but the undoubted highlight of the night was listening to Nobel Peace Prize Winner, Malala Yousafzai, being interviewed by none other than BBC news correspondent John Simpson. Malala truly is an inspiring role model and she was praised by our First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon, who was also in attendance - what a spectacular evening indeed!
