The families in the Junior School have been collecting items for the Inverclyde Foodbank in Greenock and made their first delivery of items on Friday.  

The Inverclyde Foodbank are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK. Data provided by The Trussell Trust showed that nearly 5,500 food parcels were given out between April 2021 and March 2022. 

Some of the items that Inverclyde Foodbank are in specific need of are: 

  •  Jars and packets of pasta sauces 
  • Tinned goods: tuna, meatballs, stew, fray bento pies, ham 
  • Christmas pudding, mince pies (be aware of dates), shortbread, snacks (crackers, chocolate biscuits) 
  • Rice pudding, custard
