2nd December 2022

Thursday 1st December saw the welcome return of our annual art showcase - Art at the Girdwood - a chance to celebrate the work of our talented exam level artists.

As this was the first time this event has been held post-Covid, work from the National 5, GCSE, Higher and Advanced Higher classes in 2020, 2021 and 2022 were all on display.

The works of former pupils Flo E and Maxine Y (Class of 2021) formed a special feature of the showcase, which highlighted the progression of their work through their three years of senior studies in Art and Design from National 5 to Advanced Higher.

Both girls have continued their study of Art beyond school. Flo is currently studying at the Chelsea School of Art and is spending a term in Canada as part of a special exchange. Meanwhile Maxine is at university in Dundee specialising in Computer Animation.

Our thanks to Miss Hemphill and Mr Gallacher for hosting such a wonderful event, to the pupils who provided a musical accompaniment to the evening and, of course, to our talented artists for all of the hard work, practice and dedication that goes into producing such a high standard of work.
