Last Wednesday, Junior 6 - along with their class teachers, Mrs Melville and Mr Sutton - spent the day at Senior School as the first part of their transition from Junior School.

This first visit was all about experiencing their new surroundings, and they enjoyed the familiarity of having lessons with their class teachers while in a new unfamiliar setting. As well as their lessons, they got to enjoy one of the perks of being in Senior School - hot chocolates, pastries and rolls from the canteen at short break! Judging by the smiles on their faces, this was the favourite part of the day for many people.

In the coming weeks and months, they will continue to visit the Senior School to enjoy lessons with Senior School specialist teachers, and spend time getting to know our Transitus base teacher, Mrs Smillie, and Depute (Pastoral), Ms Fulton.

By focusing on transition points - such as the move from Junior to Senior School - we aim to give pupils the best possible start to the next stage of their learning where they feel confident, empowered, and ready to take on any opportunity that comes their way.
