Congratulations to Pipe Sergeant Ross A for his success at yesterday’s inaugural ‘Caritas Banner’ Piobaireachd competition held at George Watson's College and sponsored by the Piobaireachd Society and Kintail Bagpipes, as well as Watsons.
He received first place for his performance of "The Glen is Mine" in the highly competitive 14 and Under category where he was up against twenty of country's leading young solo pipers.
This was a very specialist competition, solely focusing on the art of Piobaireachd - the classical music for the bagpipes, dating back centuries. "The Glen is Mine" is a very complex piece which last 15 minutes.
This is an outstanding achievement and testament to the years of hard work and dedication he has put into his musical studies.
