Gavin Findlay (SV) has been invited to sing with the National Youth Choir of Scotland's Main Choir, an outstanding choir for young people aged 16 to 25. This is an amazing achievement for a Senior V pupil.  Gavin will sing 2nd Bass.  The basis of the choir's activities stems from the residential course. During this time, members receive expert choral and individual vocal coaching and work with professional musicians. They perform major works from the choral repertoire in the main cities and concert halls in Scotland under the expert guidance of Christopher Bell, Artistic Director and Conductor of NYCoS.

NYCoS has performed at events all over the UK, the highlights of which include: Edinburgh International Festival, MTV Europe Awards and BBC Proms. The choir has toured internationally to Ireland (2000), Sweden (2001), Chicago (2004), Hungary (2007), Germany (2010) and Central Europe (2013).

Gavin has also recently achieved ABRSM Grade 8 with distinction in saxophone.  This is quite a feat as he achieved 142 marks out of a total of 150. Gavin will now go on to work towards the ARSM the first diploma, which bridges the gap between Grade 8 and DipABRSM. Congratulations to Gavin and to his saxophone teacher Mrs Debbie Smith on this huge achievement.
