National Youth Orchestra of Scotland
The School is represented in the NYOS Senior Orchestra, which brings together the best young musicians in Scotland over 13 year of age. SIV pupil Rory McLean (cello) has successfully auditioned and SV pupil, Lauren Baker (trumpet) being selected as a reserve.
The NYOS Junior Orchestra is for pupils aged 8 and over, and acts as a first step for young musicians in the National Youth Orchestra of Scotland, before hopefully advancing to the Senior and Symphony Orchestras. Again, the School is represented in the Junior Orchestra by SI Poppy Pitts (cello).

National Youth Choir of Scotland
St Columba’s pupils were also chosen to represent the various National Youth Choirs of Scotland. After successful auditions, SV pupil Gavin Findlay was selected to be part of the Main Choir (for singers aged 16-25 years old), with Lucy Blair (SV), Emily Capell (SV) and Stephanie Bell (SIV) selected for the Training Choir (16-19 years old). 
Stephanie was also chosen alongside Emily Phillips (SIII) and Sarah Sandground (SIII) for the National Youth Girls’ Choir of Scotland (10-16 years old), whilst Jonathan Blair ( Transitus) and Archie Sandground (SII) were selected for the National Youth Boys’ Choir of Scotland (12-16 years old).

West of Scotland Schools’ Orchestra and Concert Band
The School is represented in WSSSO and WSSCB by SV pupil Lauren Baker (trumpet), SIV pupils Hannah Findlater (saxophone), Rory McLean (cello) and SI pupil Poppy Pitts (cello).  
WSSSO has continued to provide professional training and performance opportunities to talented musicians from schools throughout west and central Scotland. With many excellent young players in every section, a team of professional tutors and James Lowe at the helm, WSSSO can give its members an unequalled experience, tackling the challenges of the grand symphonies of the 19th and 20th centuries.
