St Columba’s swimmers shine at Scottish Schools Championships

Outstanding performances across the board from our young athletes

Archie M (J6) Stella M (S2) Tom J (Trans), Ashleigh B (SIV), Emilia R (SIII) Matthew H (SIII) all competed this past weekend at the Brodie’s Scottish Schools Championships at Tollcross International Swimming Centre in Glasgow, where all performed exceptionally well!

Archie swam the 50m butterfly in the 12yr old category. In his heat he set a new West District Long Course record of 33.50s. He also achieved a Scottish National Age Group consideration time. He then swam in the finals and finished in 3rd place achieving a bronze medal.

Stella represented the school by winning gold and becoming national schools champion in the Girls 13-14 200m Butterfly. Stella also took a silver in the 100m Butterfly for the same age group.

Tom J (Trans) followed up on his recent success at the Stirling Championships, where he took home two golds and a silver and three bronze medals at the West District Championships, by putting in a strong performance and finishing 5th overall!

The Brodies Scottish Schools National Swimming Champs was the biggest school swimming event event of the year and we extremely proud of all our young athletes.
