Life in lockdown has become our new normal, and we have all had to adjust to new routines. With school closed and trips outdoors limited, finding ways to exercise daily became a new challenge.
However, 9am has now become synonymous with one man, Joe Wicks, and his live PE lessons. Joe streams a workout live every morning, helping to get everyone moving, feeling happier and staying healthy - and all from the comfort of our own homes.
He is doing such a great job of making sure that we are all working out that St Columba’s pupil, Anna McGregor (J3), has created her very own catchy tribute – ‘Fitness Never Ends (An Anthem For Joe Wicks)'.
It is clear to see that this creative St Columba’s family have not let their talents go to waste during the lockdown, and have released the track on Spotify, iTunes, and Amazon Music. Anna’s family have even produced their own music video, filled with brilliant dance moves. It is currently available on Youtube.
They have also kindly decided to donate all monies raised from streaming and downloads of the track to NHS Charities Together. Well done to Anna and her whole family.
UPDATE:
After only week of Anna’s song, ‘Fitness Never Ends (An Anthem For Joe Wicks) being available to stream and download, it seems that local press have also heard the toe-tapping tune.
Both the Greenock Telegraph and the Largs & Millport Weekly News have picked up on the story. So far, Anna's video has had 1000 views and raised about £750 for NHS Charities Together. There is still hope that the song will be able to raise more, and additional donations can be made via a Facebook fundraising page here.
We are trying to contact Joe Wicks to give Anna's song the boost it deserves. Who knows, maybe Joe will feature it in one of his workouts?!
